"ODBRANA" ( DEFENCE ) Newspaper center
The “ODBRANA” newspaper center is an institution within the Public Relations Department of the Serbian MoD.
Its basic field of work pertains to informing the public on the functioning of the defense system, MoD and SAF’s work.
The “ODBRANA” newspaper center has a Section for Newspaper and Publishing, the Internet subsection, a Graphic Design Section, Photo Center, and General Affairs Subsection..

The founder of Odbrana magazine is the Public Relations Department.
The publisher is the “ODBRANA” Newspaper center.
The first issue was on 1 October 2005.
The new magazine under the title “ODBRANA” be launched instead of “VOJSKA” magazine.
“Odbrana" magazine carries on the tradition of Ratnik (The Warrior)-the first military paper launched in 1879.

ON A RECOVERY PATH
The value of this year’s planned production amounts to RSD 2.2 billion, that is USD 38.9 million, marking 3.63-fold increase compared to last year. The export has nearly reached the amount of USD 40 million, the trust of buyers all over the world has been restored, the range of products has been expanded while 1,323 candidates have applied for the advertised vacancies. All this speaks volumes on the fact that “Krusik” slowly but confidently is growing into a reliable business partner and a leader of growth of Valjevo region, as it used to be in the past.

The Military Museum celebrated its 130th anniversary by putting on an exhibition dedicated to the memory on 1878 when the Duke Milan Obrenovicu established that institution.

Training of soldiers
REACHNIG THE NEW STANDARDS
The training of soldiers doing their national service comprises two parts. Throughout the first part, which lasts for about three months, the training is carried out at the training centers for basic training and after that at the centers for vocational-specialized training. The Training Command is dealing with the coordination of the first part of the training, while the other part of the training is carried out in the units.

Air Show “Keckemet”
FLIGHT HOLIDAY
Over 100 military and 30 civilian aircrafts from 21 countries took part in the air show. As far as the number of aircrafts and the quality of the presented program, “Keckemet 2008” is for sure the best and the most attended out of eight air shows held so far in this Hungarian city which has drawn an audience of over 100, 000 people this year. The SAF Air Force members have had very successful performance.

Elided Serbian generals in the Austrian empire (2)
FROM ONE GENERATION TO ANOTHER
Many Serbian Generals in the Austrian Army inherited family noble titles and were sons of famous military families, too. It happened very often that high military ranks had been earned by three generations of the same family. In late 18th and early 19th century, certain Serbian generals were members of the top brass of the Austrian Empire, and were very close with the royal family. They were Orthodox, Catholics or Uniats, nevertheless Serbs according to their national orientation and affiliations expressed towards the Serbian insurgents and their fight for creation of the free Serbian state.

Military Grammar School pupils on Mount Athos pilgrimage

The pupils of the Military Grammar School have recently climbed the Mount Athos. They have visited Hilandar monastery, Karyes, Protaton, St. Sava’s cell as well as other Mount Athos treasures. The Hilandar monk Dositej has hosted the pupils on the holly ground, who was once himself an officer and attended the Military Grammar School.
